CADA BELEZA!!

hey hey hey PARTY PEOPLE!

how has everyone's week been?! As you can probably tell by the subject line... I AM NOT AS SICK THIS WEEK!! The nurse gave me a "special drink" and it has helped so so much! If any of you are prepping to go on a mission or know someone who is, warn them about the food. Sharkisha ain't wrong when she says it MESSES with your system.

Something from last week that I didn't mention was the discipleship devotional we had on Sunday. President Mackey and his wife spoke and it was so good. He talked about his mom and how her mortal life on this earth won't last much longer. He talked about her having dementia. That hit so close to home. My grandma has dementia and it's tough seeing her like this and not being able to do anything to help her. President Mackey went on and talked about the plan of salvation and in between wiping my tears, I felt the spirit testify to me that God is watching over grandma and is ready to welcome her back home with open arms whenever her time comes. Which I hope is not anytime soon! I can testify to you all that this life is ROUGH. it's not always gonna be sunshine and rainbows but know this: THIS IS NOT ALL THAT GOD HAS PLANNED FOR YOU. He has so much in store for each and everyone of us!

This week was crazy but such fun. We sang in the choir at the devotional as a district and to quote Elder Heath, "it was AWESOME SAUCE." Elder Van Tassel ( an elder in my district who is going to my mission!) grew up in the same ward as Elder Jaggi, the general authority who spoke on Tuesday!! It was super neat to hear from a member of the seventy and his wife on the importance of the Book of Mormon.

My awesome companion saw that I wasn't feeling well earlier this week and has been a rockstar. She was always making sure that I felt fine enough to go to class and if I ever needed anything from the store or nurse. She drew me a lightning McQueen sticky note and I almost cried. She also drew me one with Moana, Maui, Hei-Hei, and Pua on it. I am getting them laminated as we speak. She is one of the  most talented people I know.

We went to the temple again today. At the buttcrack of dawn. But I didn't fall asleep as much this time. But we hiked through a freakin' blizzard on the way there. Don't get me wrong, I am in LOVE with the snow, just not when it's stabbing me in the face with a million tiny little needles.

On Wednesday we welcomed the new missionaries which felt odd because I am still a new missionary ahaha. One of the girls that I brought up is serving in BRASIL!! She's in the new Portuguese district right down the hall from our classroom and THEY ARE AWESOME. They are so fun to talk with and be around.

WEEKLY LIGHTS:

- Sister Reid left this morning to Tucson :(

- only speaking Portuguese at lunch

- being broadcasted to the other MTCs during choir

- having some of the worst stomach pains I have ever endured

- getting a letter from minha mae

- seeing and feeling the gift of tongues in my life

- "mindfulness"

- getting to talk with my favorite missionary in the Philippines !

- using a $5 at a vending machine but getting $8 back in change (tender mercy, the Lord knows I am broke :/)

- meeting so many new people and seeing the light of Christ just OOZE out of them

- having a personal Dr. Dre concert during personal study

Before I left for my mission I made a goal to make sure that I had one "Kachow" moment throughout each day. You know, something that I am proud of. This week's biggest Kachow moment was welcoming the new missionaries and speaking with their families as they drop their little girls off for 18 months. I felt the spirit so strongly and could make sure that they knew that The Lord is with their daughter. She isn't doing this alone.

things to pray for:

my tum tum (still on the mend)

Sister Hansen's grandpa

to see God's hand in your life throughout the day (it will change your life)

I feel your prayers daily!!

PS- i had some pictures on my camera from the day before I left so a lil throwback
