What's good in the hood?

*I was trying to explain that I was crying so hard, but accidentally said I was raining so hard. The words are super similar in português okay?

This week was BONKERS

how was conference everyone?!

I LOVED WHAT WAS SAID! Well, I think. I watched the entire thing in Portuguese. But the Spirit I felt was UNMATCHED.

When I decided to watch it in Portuguese I prayed to understand what I needed to learn. And then I prayed to understand the spirit of what was being said. MAN ALIVE DOES GOD ANSWER PRAYERS. I have no idea if what I got from conference was what was said but it was what I needed to hear.

These are the top themes that I picked up on throughout the weekend:

- God's love is a force stronger than ANYTHING

- Apply and LIVE the doctrine of Christ all day, everyday.

- We have all we have and are who we are because of Jesus Christ and His Atonement.

- STUDY THE ATONEMENT OF CHRIST! (I'm doing this too so if you have a favorite conference talk or scripture PLEASE SEND IT MY WAY!)

WEEKLY  LIGHTS

- trying TONS of new food this week and loving *almost all of them

- hanging with some Elders while we were at Brasils version of a DMV

- TEMPLE IN NATAL

- hearing "You're still the one" in an uber and almost crying #thinkingofyoumom

- HOT DOGS HERE SLAP SO HARD

- Elder Heath stole my book

- hearing crazy stories from members missions

- first reunião de zona ! (Zone meeting)

- lots of ice cream

- lots of cake

- getting caught in my first rainstorm ! it was awesome.

- Everly's birthday party!

- being catcalled

- making BRASILEIRA SPAGHETTI

- AÇAÍ

- Carollyn Nickell IS HOME EVERYONE

- "You're from Idaho? OH BATATAS!!" (POTATOES)

- impressing people with my finger snap thing (you were so right uncle Timmy)

KACHOW MOMENT:

small thing BUT MAKING MONEY MOVES OVER HERE. Sister Barros and I were having a rough time with finding people who were interested. I suggested that we write our testimonies in the livros de Mórmon and then pray to know who we should give it to. So I wrote my ENTIRE TESTIMONY IN PORTUGUESE. WITHOUT A TRANSLATOR. It wasn't all grammatically correct but it was all true. It was all the spirit. And then we walked 10 feet, not joking. And gave it to a woman who we ran into.

CHRIST LIVES. HE HELPS US WITH ALL IN OUR LIVES.

Things to pray for:

- Sister Palharin and her family

- Elder Hodges in macèio

God loves you and Só do I!!

Your emails help me throughout the week so much. Thank you! Also, if I don't reply, I'm so sorry! I will try to reply next week!

LOVE LOVE LOVEEE

How has everyone's week been?!  My subject line is kindly brought to you by Elder Van Tassel and my quote book.  This week's spiritual thought is brought to you by my own stubbornness and President M. Russel Ballard.  Flashback to before I got my mission call. I was so excited to go and serve! I had a sure feeling that I was going to South America, you could ask anyone, I knew I was going to South America. However, I thought I would be Spanish speaking. I had a background in Spanish and am minoring in it at school and overall just love the language. Then I got called to the only country in South America that doesn't speak Spanish. I was in shock for a while which ...
