As missionaries in Brasil, we are on our feet all the time. It's pretty rare to ride in a car. Public transit is more common, but cars here are luxurious. With my new calling, we've had a lot of meetings at the office. It doesn't make sense to walk to the office so we usually call an uber. And this past week we had zone council. And a training at the office. And another meeting with President. AND PDAY WITH THR ENTIRE MISSION. So we have been BLESSED GREATLY and have been in a lot of cars this week. And it made me realize that I'm like that little old grandma in Christmas Vacation who loves riding in cars :)
WEEKLY LIGHTS:
- PIZZA. We ate SO MUCH pizza this week.
- Erivaldos baptism fell through :(
- two of the new members in our ward got their patriarchal blessings this week!!
- going to Davi's house and reading the book of Mormon with his mom!!
- Eating not one...but TWO bananas this week. If you know me, you know I don't like bananas. The texture feels like a mama bird chewed it up and spit it in your mouth. But with serving here and there being MILLIONS of freshly grown bananas here, I thought I would give it a shot. Here's what I have to do to eat a banana: it HAS to be a little green still so it can be kinda crunchy, I have to have peanut butter or brigadeiro with it, and I can only eat it if I cut if off with a fork or a spoon. :) but yeah, I kinda like bananas now 🍌 🤜🏽🤛🏽#selfgrowth #fitness #newme
- becoming more and more grateful for the rain
- Filming videos of the missionaries !!
- Feeling 90% comfortable with my português!
- Davi came to church again!!
SPIRITUAL MOMENT:
Okay so our friend Erivaldo, he's awesome! He reminds me a lot of my grandpa's, both of them! Because they all love to talk and will talk your ear off about random things if you don't stop them. He's been on date for baptism for two weeks and everything has been going so great! We've have lots of lessons with members, he's been to church for two weeks and loved it, and a member has even gone over there to just hang out and eat cake! This last weekend, his family was out of town, and he really wants all of his family to watch him make the first step toward eternal happiness! So we agreed to meet this last Saturday to reschedule a date. Well, Saturday came and he wasn't home and didn't answer his phone. He was on the same bus as some elders in my district though. Sunday came, he didn't come to church and again wants answering his phone. WE WERE NOT GIVING UP. We were so persistent because we knew that this desire he had was real and that the Spirit had lead us to him. We got back last night and prayed to know what to do. We felt that we needed to call again. (At this point we had called close to 20 times in 48 hours) but we did it. We called and it rang FOREVER. But on the last ring, he Answered! He apologized for bot being at church and said he missed it dearly but had a problem with his ride. And his phone hasn't been on service for the past two days. But he wanted to mark his baptism for this next Saturday, July 1st!! This strengthens my testimony that when you're consistently trying to follow God's will and seeking His guidance, He will perform miracles.
KACHOW MOMENT:
It's gotta be the banana thing and I'm not even mad about it.
